Mariachi Music Performance
Mariachi women have performed in the male-mariachi tradition for over 100 years. The Mariachi Women’s Foundation empowers and raises the visibility of mariachi women and girls by providing performance opportunities through the annual International Mariachi Women’s Festival in Los Angeles and Mariachi Women Warriors tours. International Mariachi Women’s Festival
The 1st Annual International Mariachi Women’s Festival was held at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse to celebrate Women’s History Month on March 29, 2014. Since then, all-female mariachi women’s groups from throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Europe have performed at the festival annually. The festival moved to a virtual format during the pandemic shutdown in 2020 and was held live and through livestream in 2021 and 2022. Our festival has continued annually without disruption regardless of the challenges that we have faced in the last several years.

Mariachi Women Warriors Tours
The Mariachi Women’s Foundation seeks opportunities for mariachi women to perform in venues outside of Los Angeles whenever possible. Our last Mariachi Women Warriors Tour was held at The Grand Theatre Center for the Performing Arts in Tracy, California on March 31, 2023. In May of 2022 we toured in the cities of San Jose, Watsonville, and Tracy, California. These traveling concerts and festivals allow the foundation to extend its reach and implement its mission more broadly, expose new communities to mariachi women’s performances, and provide mariachi women with additional performance opportunities. Mariachi Women Warrior tours have also been held in San Diego, Tucson, Arizona and Vancouver, Canada.
